Forest Products Commission Western Australia
FPC WA was established in 2000 with responsibility for developing marketing and renewing Western Australia’s timber resources.
FPC seeks to be a leader in our State’s environmentally sustainable and commercially viable forest products industry while providing economic and social benefits to the people of WA.
Core business consists of harvesting and regenerating timber in South West native forests and mature plantations, and arid forests especially sandalwood in pastoral and goldfields regions.
The Commission operates in a dynamic environment, influenced by domestic and global market forces. Commercial focus is to deliver forest products – principally hardwood (eucalypt) and softwood (pine) logs, sandalwood tree material, and seeds, along with tree seedlings for planting
FPC operates as a commercial business but also provides advice to and develops policy for government on issues relating to forest management, products and services.
As a Statutory Authority, it works with industry, the community and government agencies to help ensure a robust, long term future for the forest products industry.
